RIGHT IN THE EYE
My Major Project for the Illustration MA in UAL Camberwell was a research surrounding the concept of Camp, as is defined in “Notes on Camp” by Susant Sontag. My intention was to translate the concept of Camp into clothing using illustration. The project explores the transformative quality of clothing as well as celebrates decoration, having fun and being free. The inspiration behind my project comes from an appreciation for all things camp, kitsch and over-the-top, and combining that with my interest in the ways people choose to express themselves.
